iron wedges hold a vertical iron bar that appears to hang the cross beam from a vertical post that presumably was or is tied to the apex of the roof structure
The cross beam is 4 3/4" (12cm) wide by 7" (18cm) tall.
The vertical iron bar is 21" long x 2" wide x 3/8" thick.
The pitch of the roof is 26 degrees.
Lounge window is part bricked up, and measurements suggest the lower edge falls about 15cm below the current interior floor. The small fully-bricked up window would open to a cross-section of one of the interior structural beams upon which the existing floor is sitting.
Wall is about 47cm thick (stone to stone) suggesting it is late 18th Century.
North & south blocks are currently linked. the original red-brick wall is supported by 2 lintels

rafters (not shown here) 3" wide
Northern block upstairs
the metal collar beam (tie) spanning the rafters is 3" wide x 1/2 " thick. The rafters are notched at the apex, suggesting 18th Century.
